Blushing Bride

Happy Saturday to you all !

Have you been enjoying the Olympics ? I really enjoyed last Saturday evening when we were so successful in the athletics. At one point I  got into the spirit of the occasion and started waving about two little Union Jacks. My eldest looked in disgust and said "Mom, have you been drinking ?" to which my youngest replied "She must have had blue pop and got hyper !"  Lol, my patriotism was obviously wasted on them - and no I hadn't been drinking (but might be tonight so who knows what they'll say ).

This week one of my ladies asked if we could make a wedding card, so always happy to oblige....

There are lots of versions  in blogland of this card using the heart punch but it always looks effective. Also used the milk carton die to make a little box to hold the confetti. Pink is Blushing Bride of course !

A simple card using Pocket Silhouettes again, I  must use this set more often.

French Foliage and Everything Eleanor used for this one.

Pretty aren't they ? Hope you like.

This afternoon Hubby and Sophie have gone off to football. Doesn't seem 5 minutes since the season ended and today it's the first round of the League Cup before the League starts again next week. After a disastrous season (and relegation) they are hoping to see Wolves win a lot more games this campaign. Hubby hasn't started wearing his 'Lucky Pants' yet but he is convinced all will be well as our Molineux rose in the garden is in full bloom . Men  ! who knows how their minds work but it is beautiful....

So what am I going to do with my peaceful afternoon ? Well, tonight we have not one but two birthday celebrations to attend and so I need to make a 50th card and a money wallet too.
Last minute.com as usual lol !

Pocket Silhouette sympathy

Evening all,

I think I have to admit defeat and give up trying to blog regularly at the moment as so much going on so please bear with me. Hopefully normal service will resume soon lol !

Todays card is one of those that none of us like to make - a sympathy card......

Colours are Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush and the 'lavender' is stamped using the Pocket Silhouettes set.  Simple but hopefully suitable ?

Must go because I've got to pack my things ready for tomorrows class- Wednesdays seem to come round so quickly !

Olympic Success

Hiya all, hope you are all well

Anyone else finding the Olympics a distraction ? I put it on , just to see what's happening,  and then find its several hours later and I've got nothing done lol ! It's been fab to get some Gold medals today and I've really enjoyed watching the swimming each evening. Thought the opening ceremony was great, loved everything about the flame and was so impressed with the design of the equestrian fences. Keep it going Team GB !

Back to the crafting, bit behind with this one as it features the Everyday Enchantment papers that sadly disappeared yesterday. A timely reminder to stock up on all your favourite papers before its too late !

Colours are Bashful Blue, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade.

During August Stampin Up have another amazing offer- a free stamp set with all orders of £60 and above and a very nice set it is too, contact me for more details.

Before I go, I wanted to share with you my Olympic moment..........

Okay so it wasn't mine but last year I was lucky enough to meet the very lovely Leon Taylor who won a diving silver medal in 2004 with Pete Waterfield (Tom Daley's current partner)

Leon was very interesting to talk to and without being asked he placed his precious medal around my neck !! Amazing so I can only imagine what it must be like to earn your own.

Lets hope we get to celebrate many more medals !

PS Just noticed my page views have gone over 25,000 today so it is definitely a Silver celebration- a big thank you to all my readers and I really love reading your comments x

Evening all,

Sorry I have neglected everyone in Blogland recently but just been busy, busy, busy ! I have had two classes this week, which although double the fun has meant many hours cutting and scoring. I have even been starting in my craft room at 6am to avoid the heat in the evenings. Not complaining though, it might be raining tomorrow.

Must make more of an effort to 'talk ' to you more often because I've got plenty to show you. Anyway as promised last week another end of term thank you............

Using the gorgeous Everything Eleanor set, colours are Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade and the brad and ribbon are from this months offer- free with an order of £45 but only for a few days longer so if you'd like to treat yourself please get in touch quickly !
Like to see the inspiration for these cards ?

The matching thank you bouquets I made too ! The recipients asked which came first - the flowers or the cards  and the answer is the flowers but that is the beauty of Stampin Up products, there is always something that co-ordinates lol !

Think I'm going to settle down now with my PJs on ready to watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony- it might be a long night !!!

School's Out !

As the song goes - School's out for Summer !!!

So now I get to spend some time with my two girls - how long before before I'm tearing my hair out lol ?
They are actually growing up (too quickly) into talented young ladies and I would like to share with you a couple of  'proud Mom moments '

The other weekend I mentioned we spent a lovely day at Ledbury and the reason for the trip was that Isabel had won a poetry competition and the prize was the opportunity to read her poem at the prestigious Ledbury Poetry Festival ! Let me share her work ......

Lost for Words

I'm trying to write a poem,
I don't know what about.
It's got to be done soon,
I'm really freaking out!

It could be about the weather,
Wind,rain or snow.
Sunshine or rainbows,
I really do not know.

How about my bedroom ?
It's always such a mess.
So many posters on the walls,
I'm in love with JLS !!!

It could be about a sleepover,
Fun with 'Truth or Dare'
Sitting around in our PJs,
Doing each other's hair.

How about my school?
Small though it may be.
We all get on together,
It's a cool place to be.

It could be about the circus,
Clowns and acrobats.
Popcorn and candyfloss,
Magicians in top hats.

How about a football match ?
The noise could make you deaf.
Everyone is shouting,
"That's a foul ref ! "

I've got no inspiration,
I keep looking at the clock.
Eureka !   I've got it !
I'll write about writers block !

by Isabel Wade age 10

Isn't it good ? And she stood on the stage and read really confidently too. So proud.

Also this busy, last week at school involved Presentation Evening at Sophie's high school. She was asked to play her keyboard ( Marry Me by Bruno Mars) and later in the evening she was presented with the Young Musician of the Year award ! My girls continue to amaze me with talents I can only dream of !

Thank you for indulging me, now back to something crafty.......

Whilst looking for something for Isabel's teacher, I spotted this ............

Perfect her very own blackboard lol ! The teacher was also leaving the school to set up her first home in another area with her boyfriend so I thought this would be good but decided it needed a bit of a Stampin Up makeover and a very short time later it looked like this .........

Much nicer I thought !

Card and shopping list jotter to match. I also hand stamped the wrapping paper ( sorry in too much of a rush to take piccie ) and apparently she was thrilled with everything.

Back next time with another end of term thank you.

What no rain !

Evening all

Well, it's actually stayed dry all day today (so far, anyway ). I have managed to dry the washing and cut the lawn which makes a change and ......it's St Swithin's Day !! So that means 40 fine days - don't hold your breath I think rain is forecast again for tomorrow.

Todays  colour combination is Blushing Bride, Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze with a bit of Twitterpated paper, want to see ?

Love the Mixed Bunch stamps and matching punch.

The bakers twine makes a fab washing line and I got my jumbo wheel out to make some baby clothes.
Another stamp from the Aint Love Grand set and matching embossed hearts.

A cute little box using the Petal Cone die and some retired ribbon that hadn't been opened - oops !

Last week of school this week and so much going on disco, reports, presentation evening and still got the thank yous to do , better get a move on !

Rain, rain and more rain !

Evening all,

I am just so fed up of all this rain although we did have a brief but very welcome respite from it at the weekend. We had a lovely day at Ledbury  on Saturday but I'll tell you about that another time and on Sunday we trimmed some trees and dismantled the shed in the garden.  We had so many branches we had 8 trips to the tip ! Oh well , stopped Hubby watching the Grand Prix and the tennis lol. You know sometimes when you start a job and it leads to 6 others, now we need to change the fence and I want a new patio laying......

I have got some cards to show you..........

Colours are Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral. Sentiment is from Curly Cute.

Paper is from the beautiful Everyday Enchantment set which is now available to purchase at £9.95. Hand made button using 2 of the circle punches.

One for the boys - stamp from the hostess Aint Love Grand set.

And a cute little treat bag with some choccies inside.

Hope you like ? It's Wednesday again tomorrow which means it's class day- looking forward to the latest book review discussion lol !
