Paisley Petals

Evening all,

Monday again! Have you had a good weekend ? It was strange in our house as it was a football free weekend due to Wolves recent dismal dismissal in the FA Cup. Makes a change for us all to be together for a whole weekend lol !

Todays card use the Paisley Petals Stamps and matching papers. I must confess not one of the sets that immediately jumped out at me  but having had a play, I may be converted.

Colours are Baja Breeze ( much neglected of late ! ) and Calypso Coral, a surprise current favourite of mine. When I first saw the new In Colours I loved them all except Calypso Coral - I've told you I don't 'do' anything remotely orange! But this colour is really growing on me, I have even ordered a whole pack of card stock and a roll of ribbon so maybe I'm cured lol !

Using up the scraps again to make some embellishments !

What's that at the front ? My new Simply Adorned locket, had to make an insert to match.

Thanks Jules for the late night emergency lesson in how to open it lol ! I had already broken one nail and looked like I was doing a task on the Generation Game ( showing my age) but Jules came to the rescue on the other end of the phone with step by step instructions.

It's easy once you know how !!!

Charming with a difference

Evening all,

Sorry I've been missing this week- just been so busy and that included putting my latest order in and deciding on my freebies ! Yes FREEBIES, Stampin Up has got a wonderful offer on during the Sale-a-bration period and for every £45 you spend you get to choose from some free stamp sets or a set of papers.

Also if you decide to join Stampin Up at the moment you get to choose a free stamp set from the catalogue up to any value !!! As the starter kit only costs £119 this is an absolute bargain, so if you would like any more information please email me.

The card I am going to show you today is made from the Charming set (again) but looks different from its traditional look..............

Not what you were expecting eh ?

The paper is from the Flirtatious set and the embellishment is stamped from Charming then punched out with the Scalloped Oval punch and an Itty Bitty centre. Sentiment is from Party this Way and embossed with Melon Mambo powder.

I love how versatile this set is, definitely a must have !

Back soon x

Cmon Wolves

Well, the lucky pants didn't work !!

Wolves got knocked out of the cup by Birmingham on Wednesday , leaving them to concentrate on the League, starting today with another local derby against Aston Villa. Hope they have better luck today.

I was recently asked to make a card for a young Wolves fan and this is what I came up with.........
Although the little boy image isn't from Stampin' Up , everything else is ! I used Party this Way and the matching punch to make the bunting and personalised it with the Just Perfect alphabet. Sentiment is from For My Family and colours are Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black.

While I have been writing this Wolves have come from behind to equalise at 1 each so perhaps this card will be more lucky than the pants lol !

Have a good weekend x

Sail away

Evening all, hope you are having a good week.

We had fun at my class today using the new cupcake items and my real cupcakes went down well too !

Todays card is one for the boys. I know it's a rare occurence from me but sometimes needs must lol !

Have used the a la carte Sail away stamp and the sentiment is made with the ever so useful For my Family set. Have ripped the paper and put the layers at different angles to try and create the illusion of movement.
Have even added a bit of sea spray with the marker pen and the colour spritzer tool. Linen thread knot adds interest but can't claim to know anything about proper sailing knots !

Short and sweet tonight as I am going to watch Wolves v Birmingham on telly in the FA Cup replay. Hubby and Sophie have gone, they must be suckers for punishment as apparently the first game was absolutely dire. Hubby is hoping for an improvement tonight as it's being shown on national tv. Fingers crossed - and I've washed his lucky pants specially lol !!! Men !

Cupcake creations

Hiya all,

I would have loved to be making the trip up to Leeds today for training with Jules and the girls but unfortunately I can't make it today as Hubby has gone to Tottenham to watch Wolves.

I have decided to be very self-indulgent and have my own little crafting day so I have abandoned all the housework ( my excuse is a bad knee and I need to sit down lol ! ) and apart from occasionally feeding the washing machine I have been playing all day.

I'm not sure what Jules and the gang are up to but I'm sure there will be some cupcakes involved so I decided to play with my new cupcake goodies. Whilst browsing the internet I saw somewhere a really cute little box but the cupcake case was made by pleating paper. This looked a bit fiddly for doing in class so I decided to make my own version..........

The top is made with the petal cone die and doesn't the Manhattan Rose embossing folder make fantastic textured frosting ? Colour combination is Melon Mambo , Pretty in Pink and Pool Party. This is a really sweet box and ideal for a small item of jewellery or a chocolate treat.

This is the card to match...........

The punch makes it soo easy to put these together and it is very therapeutic ! Like my real cupcake too ? Baking and crafting in one day- bliss !

Girls, I hope you all had a fab day and I look forward to a bit of blog hopping to see what you've been up to !

More Charming

Evening all,

Had a good day ? Today was my first Wednesday class of 2012 and it was nice to back ! I was telling the ladies about the lovely new things in the new Mini catalogue and guess which stamp set we used today lol ? Yes, Charming it had to be and these are the cards we made............

Colours are Island Indigo, Pool Party , Calypso Coral and Tempting Turquoise. I love how using the markers allows you to give stamps a new look.
We also made an easel card with a calendar tab..................

If you live nearby and would like to come and join us on a Wednesday morning please contact me at mrsjuliewade@sky.com for more details.

Next week I think we are going to use the new Cupcake set and punch so I'm off to bake, I mean make, cupcakes !!

Inspired by Spice Cake

Evening all,

If you have hopped round a few blogs in the last week you will have seen some fantastic projects made with the gorgeous new Spice Cake papers from the Mini Catalogue. I have been really inspired and thought I would make something similiar.

One slight problem - I haven't got any of the Spice Cake papers lol ! Not wanting to be left  out I decided to use the colour combination and make my own designer paper. I used one of my wheels (haven't used these nearly enough, but now I've got the ruler and its soo much easier !) and then randomly coloured in with my marker pens that Santa brought me - thanks Hubby !

See what I mean ? Now I  could make some cards.

More Mustard is not a colour I normally use but I may change my mind

Flower is from the Boho Blossoms punch and the leaves are stamped from Paisely Petals.

Hope you like my non Spice Cake efforts !

All change !

Evening all,

What do you think of the new look ? If you had stopped by at varying stages on Wednesday night you would have seen all sorts of different blog designs. If I'm honest I was just experimenting but then couldn't get back to my original settings so about 10 changes later and this is where I called it a day. Will it stay like this .........? Who knows lol ! You know I don't do technical and can't even manage to personalise the banner so it depends if my IT experts have got much homework this weekend lol.

Todays card is a change from the new Charming set but I have got plenty more to show you soon. I have used another of my new stamps...... Elizabeth from the A la carte range.........

Colours are Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Pool Party with Soft Suede ink. Sentiment is from another new set - Create a Cupcake ( coming soon to a blog near you ) and the butterfly embosslit has some added bling. I used the masking technique to put part of the script from En Francais ' behind' .
If the photo looks like it was taken in the dark, it was.......before 7am this morning and Hubby needed a card for work. Quite like this one so might make some more in different colour combinations.

Have a good weekend x

Spring is here !

Ok , maybe not Spring but the new Spring Mini catalogue is launched today. Have you had a look ?  If not, why not lol !! Definitely worth a peek, some fab new stamp sets, gorgeous papers and really useful punches, something for everyone - oh and did I mention the new range of jewellery ?

It's great to have a Mini catalogue so early in the year so go on treat yourself  !  I have (hopefully) added a link if you click on the picture on the right.

My card today is another one using the Charming set. I think one of the reasons I love this set is because it has lots of different looks............

I have used just one of the stamps today but love the geometric feel of this design. Makes a very bold centre for the flower doesn't it ?

Back soon with some more ideas x

First day back

Evening all,

How are we ? It was first morning back for everyone in our household this morning and what a morning to have to get out of bed ! It was blowing a gale and pouring with rain - I was very tempted to hibernate until Spring lol.

As promised here are some 'Charming' cards using a new stamp set.........

Colours are Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder. I mentioned previously that I had lots of umounted stamp sets and this was first on my list to play with so I must have been a favourite even subconciously !

The Mini Catalogue launches tomorrow, if you don't have a SU demonstrator already get in touch for more details.

New products definitely help to beat the back to work blues !

Happy New Year !

Happy New Year to all my lovely readers !

Hope you had a good Christmas ? We had a lovely time and then also celebrated Sophie's birthday - yes, it's official we have a teenager in the house ! Think she has been practising for a while though lol !

We also had a few days away at a beautiful hotel near Chester but on the day we left tragically the body of a an 18 yr old who had been missing since his works Christmas party, was found in the lake. Also on the way home on a local motorway we saw a fatal road accident. Makes you think doesn't it ? Therefore my New Year resolution is to count my blessings and appreciate everyone and everything that is important to me !

I must admit I'm not a big fan of New Years Eve and usually go to bed but last night I stayed up and played with some of my new crafting goodies. First time I have been able to play, just because I can for quite a few weeks. Plenty to show you but I haven't taken the photos yet so you will have to wait a little longer....

I do like New Years Day though, have taken all the Christmas decorations down ( very last year lol ! ) and started a big sort out - the novelty will probably have worn off by tomorrow.

I do have something to show you. It was a little gift I gave to the lady that gets the room set up for me where I hold my weekly card classes.

( Sorry but for some reason Blogger won't let me move the picture to here.)

Papers are Mocha Morning and the stamps are a retired Sale -a -bration stamp . Did I mention Sale-a-bration ? I have seen this years freebies and they are well worth waiting a few days extra for ! So exciting, also the new Mini Catalogue launches on Wednesday and I'm sure it will be very popular.

Back soon with some 'Charming' new things to show you ; )
